In Spain, There are different types of Carnival celebrations. Tenerife Carnival is different from Cádiz celebration, for example. In the world, the Venice Carnival in Italy is far from the Brazilian one in Rio de Janeiro.
In the USA, Carnival is not celebrated as much as in the rest of the world. Only New Orleans, the most European American city prepares a great celebration with parades and parties. There are others in some parts of New York and the State of Florida, but the people who celebrate Carnival are mainly immigrants or descendants from Caribbean countries. Carnival in New Orleans is called Mardi Gras (Holy Tuesday), named in French because of the French tradition of the city and the State of Louisiana, as an old French colony.
